FAQ

Questions families actually ask.

Wait lists, insurance plans, fees, telehealth, referrals, history forms, and how the free telephone consultation works. If it is not here, call us.

Do you really see every age?+

Yes. Summit Speech Therapy treats newborns through geriatrics, feeding and early language, school-age speech, teen social language, adult voice and stroke recovery, and cognitive-communication changes later in life. That full range is the reason the clinic exists.

Is there a wait list?+

No. Families come to us after months on hospital and large-clinic wait lists. We built a stand-alone speech practice so treatment frequency is not limited by another department’s staffing.

Do you accept insurance?+

Yes. We accept insurance and can discuss private pay and foundation funding. We are in-network preferred providers with Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield, DMBA, PEHP, Tricare, UnitedHealthcare, University of Utah Health Plans, SelectHealth, Motiv, Medicaid, and Curative Healthcare. Call for a good-faith estimate under the No Surprises Act.

What does it cost?+

We do not post fees online, because the number depends on your plan, the service, and the billing codes involved. We go over fees and our cancellation policy during your free telephone consultation and put a good-faith estimate in writing before anything is billed.

Can I schedule myself online?+

Not yet. Start with a free telephone consultation. Our front office takes your details, then a speech-language pathologist speaks with you. Your clinician and your insurance determine whether a screening, a comprehensive evaluation, or therapy is the right next step.

Do you offer telehealth?+

Yes, statewide in Utah, with expansion planned for Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho. In-person care is available in Bountiful, Layton, and Murray.

What does the free phone consultation include?+

You speak with an ASHA-credentialed speech-language pathologist, not front office staff. The SLP listens to your concerns, explains how we evaluate and treat, and gives initial feedback so you can decide whether speech therapy is the right next step for you or your child. There is no pressure to book.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?+

Utah SLPs can evaluate and treat independently. Some insurance plans still require a physician referral for coverage. We will help you check that during the consult.

Where are the Child and Adult History Forms?+

They are part of intake and are also posted on this website. Download the Child History Form or Adult History Form from our Forms page, or ask the front office to email the packet that matches who is coming in after your free telephone consultation.

When are visits available?+

Client appointments run 7:00am–8:00pm. We offer visits throughout the day and throughout the week so families are not limited to after-school hours. Front office phone hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm.

Can you talk through cost before we start?+

Yes. Speech, language, and communication needs can be hard to navigate. We will discuss costs for evaluations and therapy and the best payment source for you. Call our front office at (385) 275-0492 or email [email protected].
