Shane James

Shane’s clinical interests include brain injury rehabilitation, child language, articulation, swallowing, memory, and neuro-cognitive care. He is a licensed CCC-SLP in Utah and a member of ASHA.

For more than 20 years, Shane has worked in hospice, home health, skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospitals, providing patient care and helping the practice grow. He also enjoys working with children in school settings, including a preschool for children with developmental disorders. Shane holds his Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), is licensed in Utah, and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Diane Nilsson

Diane treats articulation, child language, autism, childhood apraxia, and oral myofunctional disorders, including tongue thrust. She is PROMPT-trained and licensed in Utah.

Diane has worked in public and private schools, speech clinics, and private practice. She has training in ABA and Verbal Behavior, and is trained in the PROMPT technique. Diane holds her CCC-SLP, is licensed in Utah, and is a member of ASHA.

Kathleen George

Kathleen works across early intervention and adult rehab, including fluency, articulation, aphasia, and dementia. She came to the field after watching therapy help her mother with a voice disorder.

Kathleen has worked with toddlers through early intervention and with adults in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and home health. As a child she watched therapy help her mother with a significant voice disorder. That is why she still treats communication work as a family story, not just a skill list.

Rachel Mederos

MS, CCC-SLP

Rachel evaluates and treats children and adults in voice and upper airway, fluency, language, neurocognitive care, and AAC. She holds her CCC-SLP and is licensed in Utah.

Rachel completed externships at the LDS Hospital Voice and Swallowing Center, Near Therapy Services, and TOSH, plus clinical work at the University of Utah. She evaluates and treats children and adults in voice and upper airway, dysarthria, aphasia, fluency, articulation, language, neurocognitive disorders, and AAC. She previously provided ABA services. She holds her CCC-SLP and is licensed in Utah.

Kate Low

MS, CFY-SLP

Kate enjoys early intervention, articulation and phonology, child language, and aphasia. She is completing her CCC and is licensed in Utah.

Kate completed an externship in adult outpatient neuro-rehabilitation treating aphasia, apraxia, dementia, TBI, Parkinson’s, and neuro-cognitive disorders, plus an externship in the Provo School District with elementary students in self-contained classrooms. She finished clinical work at Brigham Young University treating a wide range of people and disorders. She is completing her CCC and is licensed in Utah.

Julia Price

M.S., CCC-SLP

Julia treats articulation, bilingual language development, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. She especially enjoys early intervention and school-age work.

Julia has worked with pediatric populations in school and clinical settings, and with adults in clinic. She especially enjoys early intervention and school-age work. She holds her CCC-SLP, is licensed in Utah, and is a member of ASHA.

Carrie Ashcraft

MA, CCC-SLP

Carrie joined Summit in June 2024. She treats early intervention, speech sounds, childhood apraxia, TBI, VCD, swallowing, and AAC.

Carrie has been working for Summit Speech Therapy since June 2024. She has worked in a skilled nursing facility, a preschool, and clinic, including TBI, vocal cord dysfunction, swallowing, AAC, childhood apraxia, speech and language disorders, and early intervention for children under three. She holds her CCC-SLP and is licensed in Utah.

Mark R. Plumley

MA, CCC-SLP

Mark has 25 years of pediatric experience from early intervention through post-high school, including autism, stuttering, selective mutism, and AAC.

With 25 years of experience, Mark has worked with children ages 0–22 in early intervention, home, preschool, public school, post-high school, and private settings. He is certified with the InReal Early Intervention Program, holds his CCC-SLP, and is a member of ASHA.

Our front office answers the clinic phone during phone hours, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:30pm, so families are not left in a portal. They take your details and hand you to a speech-language pathologist for the free consultation. There is no online self-scheduling.
